A Documentary Film by ROACH Projects
"A Road At Night" offers a searing, unblinking examination of the human toll taken by an all-too-common behavior that kills someone in America every 39 minutes.
The film is an emotionally gripping account of heartbreaking loss for a family and a community. The story takes us through a cascade of events that begins with an evening of small but unwise decisions that end up altering the course of lives forever.
Set against the backdrop of UW-Madison college athletics, the film examines the incredible challenges endured in the face of an unspeakable tragedy -- as well as the lifelong bonds of friendship that illustrate how the worst of times can bring out the best in people.
Award-winning writer, director and producer John Roach, co-writer of the Oscar-nominated David Lynch film, "The Straight Story", led the project. Roach began his career in Chicago broadcasting, winning multiple Emmys for documentaries, entertainment specials, and cable series.
Executive producers are Pamela Hamel, George Hamel, and Tim Valentyn.
